Standing at the corner of Lebuh Light & Lebuh Pantai is the moorish-style Clock Tower. It was presented to Penang state by local millionaire Cheah Chen Eok in 1897 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. For this reason, it towers 60 feet above the ground, with each foot representing every year of the Queen's reign.
